CREDITS
Il Medical Research Center is a prototype commissioned by a pharmaceutical company. The choice of inscribing the entire planivolumetric composition inside an elliptical shape, if on the one hand it wants to investigate its expressive and symbolic potential in relation to the institutional theme, on the other it generates an elusive profile that allows a possible insertion in multiple contexts.

A stretch of water encloses the entire hospital complex. The various departments can be reached by walking along pedestrian walkways arranged in coincidence with the large socializing courtyards protected by brise-soleil steel structures.
The typological system is regulated by blocks arranged in a comb that flow into a glazed gallery, a meeting place for operators and patients as well as a cornerstone of the distribution system for accessing the various activities: research departments, clinics, administrative functions and hospital rooms.
A pedestrian ramp develops adjacent to the sloping glass window that overlooks the pools of water, multiplying its image.
The wall textures are treated with large exposed concrete panels. stained glass windows in different colors arranged alternately on the loggias of the rooms, give the Research Center a polychrome image mediated by the expressive force to the light that reverberates from the water mirrors and is reflected on the smooth concrete walls and stained glass windows, producing a suspended and relaxing atmosphere.
